   Older versions of apache have a number of regular expression quirks. Coding around them can be a pain.

   Apache 1.3 has some mod_rewrite bugs that Apache 2 does not have. I'll have to workaround this one.

   I can confirm the same problem. Also on 1.3.31.

   Same here.... caused me some pain. haha
   it'll be nice if i can just upgrade apache liddat...
   but life and webhosts just doesn't work that way

   I wrote a plugin that allows me to use %category%/%postname% permalinks in Apache 1.3 without any trouble whatsoever.
