  • It’s pretty good.
I would however recommend, due to your text size. Make the page fixed width, maybe with the text at 500 pixels wide. I think that would help it a lot. Even on my PowerBook, looking at a line and reading it from start to finish is daunting because it is so long.

I have really problems to read your text. The contrast is bad and the text ist too small.

I have increased the text size. Does that help at all? Also what resolutions are you running it at. I use 1280×1024 on a 17″ screen and I can read it just fine.

I can imagine laptops and screens/monitors with poor contrast might have problems displaying a light grey text color on a white background.

If you don’t want to make your site fixed-width you could increase the line-spacing to 1em – makes it much more readable without increasing font size or cutting line length.

I increased the text size just a little and also put the line-height at 1.5em. How is that?

    I think that’s a lot better 🙂

Could you post the code that changes the font colors?

Root would complain about your footer not being at the bottom of your page but I suppose since it is only the width of the middle column it’s appearance before the menu ends is not as large a faux paux. The site looks nice but I would go for a darker gray for the text, as it is a bit hard to read.

Wow, I really like you blog. Very nice colors, very impressive. Thanks for the link!

No it’s not Mingus. Still need to get around to upgrading. And the footer didn’t look right becuase of the two columns not stretching to the bottom. The text I would like to keep the current color becuase it is the same as the text on the buttons.
The styleswitcher is the one from alistapart http://www.alistapart.com/articles/alternate/

Well as I recall there was a css positioning bug on the comments text area in early versions. It is easy to adjust in the CSS. At the mo it overuns the rh col.

    comment text area problem, fixed.

It looks nice artimeg. However, on my 1024 x 768 resolution when I visit any page with the “add a comment” text box the page seems several pixels too wide, meaning the sideways-scroll bar pops up at the bottom of the screen, which is a bit annoying. It’s probably related to the comment textarea width, but others on this board may have more accurate information than I can provide.

That problem has been fixed. The comment area width was set to 100% and I lowered it and that fixed the problem. I am assuming you are using Internet Explorer because it was not a problem with firefox.
