I just recently made the change from wordpress.com to using bluehost to self host a wordpress.org site // i have no idea if i fully completed the installation or not. It seems that I sometimes go to my site: http://www.pitterpatterclunk.com and it's the old wp.com site and sometimes it looks like the newer bluehosted site? why would this be?

also, when i go to upload new content it looks like it's uploading to the older version (i can tell by the photo size specifications -- they're different then my new theme)

third // i keep getting "media failed to import" as of late. i was able to break up the file into smaller files and some of them went through but they don't seem to be importing anymore.

any help with any of these would be greatly appreciated! (such a newbie)

If you had a domain pointing to wp.com, did you update the DNS server info from your domain registrar, to point it to your new hosting server?

Also might wanna check this tutor out

it seems the server(?) just needed time to adjust ...the signals seemed to be mixed...after some time it seemed to correct itself. i was trying to fix/update the blog too soon (within 24 hours of switching)

as far as importing media and images...i re-installed wordpress after I had bluehost up the MB limit to 100 MB ...and after importing my xml file numerous times until it seemed all images uploaded ...i think i'm set to go.

    thanks for the response !

Yes, you are correct. It's the domain propagation, it may take from hours to days, depending on where you are, in order to update all the servers on the Internet worldwide. You can use the checker tool here

but I am glad it's not caused by any other issue :)
