    1) Click on any upcoming event

    2) Go to “all events” – the calendar view of events

    3) Advance December or a later month

    4) Now, view that month as a list

5)The list will come up not complete, but starting in December. There will be an arrow pointing back to “Previous events” – click on that

    6) The list will come up for November – but the events here are now listed backwards – in reverse chronological order. Very peculiar.

  • Hi joco18 – that definitely looks like a bug to me: I’ll make sure this is reported and we will try to address it as quickly as possible.

    Thanks for reporting!

    Hi there,

I just wanted to pop in here with a quick update. Although we were not able to get a fix for this into our imminent 3.3 release, it is still on the radar for inclusion in a future build. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for keeping it on your radar.

I think I understand why the bug is there. The plug-in assumes that if I’m looking at an event in February, it must be February. So if I look back at January etc., I’ll get it in closest order to where I am – i.e., in reverse chronological order. That’s not such a big problem. The real problem is that having done that, if I then go to the “month” view for that prior chronologically backwards list, the calendar month shows up EMPTY of events altogether! Try it to see what I mean.

+1 on this, weird to go backwards from upcoming events to previous and see the events in the wrong order!

Apologies for the inconvenience everyone – we’ve got this back on the radar and are working hard to resolve it.

    Hi there,

I just wanted to let you know that we were able to work on this issue for our upcoming 3.8 release. Keep an eye out on your site for an update announcement! If you update and are still seeing this problem, please post a new thread so we can check it out. Thank you for your patience while we got this fix in place.

Great, would you please push the fix to the free version too? Past events should not appear with oldest event at the top.

Also, the “CHANGING THE WORD ‘EVENTS’ TO SOMETHING ELSE” snippet is not working anymore – crashes the plugin.

    Hi lightbulbpromo,

This fix was included in The Events Calendar 3.8. If you are still seeing that behavior, I recommend testing for conflicts with a theme or plugin.

We’d be happy to look into the snippet issue for you, but can you start a new topic? That makes the forum much more organized and it’s easier for us to help out. You’ll want to make sure that there isn’t a conflict at play in this case too.

    Best,
    Leah

Hello, thanks for the great plugin. I am befuddled by this as well. Similar post here:

Can Barry or Leah check with Brook to see if this bug can be resolved?
