Support » Installing WordPress » return e-mail address

  • Hi,

I’m running a new wordpress installation on a Ubuntu LAMP server. Everything’s working fine, however, when wordpress sends out e-mails (ie. passwords to registering users, or notifications of comments to the admin) the sender’s e-mail address is worpress@ip address of the server. How do I change this to the actual e-mail address of the administrator? Thanks.

  • Did you input the “real” admin email in the appropriate field within wp-admin/options (I think, the General section)?

Yup, the admin e-mail address is entered correctly.

Okay, then it probably is something with the way LAMP handles mail, and since I don’t know much if anything about linux etc. you’ll probably have to hang on until one of the bright folks who DOES know something happens by, or check on the linux fora for problems with mail.

Same problem here, a solution would be highly appreciated!
