    Hey Rmafive,

I don’t think the theme you are using will be creating the retina and the normal image automatically for you; you should do it yourself, like you did, have them next to each other, and your theme should only be aware of the “normal” one.

The plugin will set load the @2x accordingly, depending on the visitor. If it is “too big”, you have to set-up the width and height (normal ones) in the CSS or HTML, you can use the custom css code for that.

Is the Retina image is getting loaded at least?

    Hi Jordy,

Thanks for the quick reply and awesome plug-in. I am not sure if I have set up the plug-in correctly, since the theme can select both the 2x and the normal sized photo from the media library, which is strange. In the normal sized photo I get an X on the medium, large, and thumbnail versions in the retina menu. I thought it should see the 2x version, which is exactly double the size as the normal picture, and automatically use that to create a retina version of the normal one. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks a lot!

The plugin doesn’t add anything to the Media Library. If there is a @2x file available in the library, it’s probably because you uploaded yourself. You should actually remove it.

The logo has probably a special/specific size, so you shouldn’t really use the Media Library for this… Can’t you upload manually the logo by FTP manually, along with a @2x generated by you, and reference them? Logos have to be handled on the size, because there are “considered” as part of the theme.

If you really need/want to use the Media Library, then upload the normal logo size, then later create manually a @2x file of this logo but upload it by FTP, and put it next to the original one.

I tried to upload the standard logo to the media library and then I placed the logo@2x which I created manually in the folder using FTP. After a refresh the retina page still shows the same errors and it does not appear to be retina quality on my site. I also tried to just upload the normal sized logo (after deleting all of the others) and generate a 2x version, but it would not generate. My ideal logo size is around 230×75, so I also have a 460×150 version saved as the 2x I can manually upload. Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds fine, but it’s hard to say, as I don’t know the plugin your use, I don’t see your website, and I don’t even know which method you picked, or maybe you are even using strong caching services.

Would you mind contacting me by email?

How should I contact you via email? Would you prefer that I use the contact page on your website in the FAQ section?

Yes, this is the best way to contact me 🙂
