    Hi Jordy –

Thanks so much for including the option to serve normal-res images to mobile devices. I also noticed another (possibly related) thing:

Retina 2X set to: HTML-Rewrite mode

I clear the browser cache. I type in the URL for my site. The home page loads, however only normal-res images initialy appear in sidebars (e.g. for all “Featured Post” Thumbnails). Then I hit page refresh in the browser address bar, and then the @2x thumbnail images appear. In other words, the @2x are not served not upon initial home page load, but only after subsequent refresh of the home page.

This occurs on all retina devices: New Powerbook 13″ & 15″, iPad4, iPhone 5. I made sure all browser caches were cleared before running the tests.

Any ideas why this might be occuring? Or, is this what you would expect when using the HTML Rewrite mode?

Thanks for a fantastic plugin, and best regards.

Yes, on the very first load of the page the server-side can’t actually know that it is a retina device. There is nothing to detect that yet, except in CSS and JS. That’s unfortunate, and I hope there will be a standard soon for that.
