    Hey guys,

    I have been looking around for something that restricts certain page template to be used.

    For example: Authors can select a page template such as "Design 1" or "Design 2" but they shouldn't see "Design 3" because I want "Design 3" to be only available to Admins

    Thank you for the resources, I will continue to look at these, however it might not serve my needs. The functionality that they provide is to show or hide the whole ability to use the Template option. But I need it to show/hide only certain options in the list of Templates.

    I may not need this solution if I could find a stinking syntax list for the wordpress content editor.. I know that you can use functions from functions.php by enclosing the function name with [] (square brackets) but for the life of me I don't know how to pass it a variable >.<

    Where am I not looking?

    I found it http://codex.wordpress.org/Shortcode_API#Overview It is both simple and annoying that I couldn't find it >.<

    One last note: my first dilemma might still be an issue for others.
    WP could build it into the accepted parameters such as

    /*
    Template Name: Homepage Template
    Restrict to: admin,super user
    */
