I am doing a multisite install. My aim is to let the different users belong to group A or group B. The big difference between these groups is that user from A are supposed to post in category 1, while useres in B are supposed to post in category 2. Both groups can comment on both.

But … how to do it?

To be more specific: I want to assign each user in my multisite to a pre-defined writing category (I am planning to query these categories on the front page, separated according to the category). When each user are writing a new post, their category of choice is already given to them by superadmin (hopefully, it should be possible to change category A to B and so on later on).
I have tried a lot of plugins, but I can’t find any one capable of doing this. Anyone with any idea?

    User Access Manager

It won’t autoselect a category for you, but you can restrict which categories they can post in with it.

Thanks! I will try this one, as well as Author category which I discovered by accident.

Another way to solve this issue must be to add one extra type of metadata for each user and query on this value, I think.
