Hi all, I need an answer quick! I need to be able to restrict a page of my blog so that a user cannot access it until they provide their email address. I am a young filmmaker trying to find an audience to info like email addresses is crucial to me. Specifically, I want the user to click on my "Screening Room" Page and have to enter their email address before watching my stuff.
I would just require them to register, but the default process is too many steps for someone who just wants to watch a short film.
Thanks,
Steve
I am afraid you will have to write a custom plugin for that.

I wish I knew how. I have a plugin which has the code required to collect an entered email address, but I just don't know how to restrict a page until they have entered it?
There's nothing to stop people just typing... daw897y823ygu231@hgbajuhdgb.com just to get to the page...
I use a few sites that require email to comment and such, i always use a made up email because i don't want emails from every tom dick and harry.... you may find users do the same...
Just something to consider...

it could be a double opt-in? I just need something to collect data about my users and potential audience!
Then make a preview of your post and ask to register to read the full version ;)
