Restoring static pages after hack (3 posts)

I was recently hacked--two different sites, both running WP, one with static pages only. I want to do a total clean-up, but I'd also like to not have to start from square one to set up my static pages.

My web host has cleaned out my sites, and I've run Virus Total which confirms there's nothing nasty left on the sites. I've also triple-checked my computer to guard against FTP'ing anything from here. My question is: can I download my customized templates before I delete everything from the host server, and then upload them once I've done the new WP installations, to save myself the trouble of doing the customizing over again? I tend to think that's the thing to do, but figure I best ask the experts before doing it. Being hacked has whacked my thinking I know what I'm doing!

That is what I would do
    download them
scan them with your anti virus
    upload them to new files
