[resolved] Restoring old WP, will old password work? (3 posts)

So, in the process of upgrading to 2.7, something went wrong, and wordpress treated it as though it was a brand new installation. It issued a new password and didn't recognize my db, or any of my settings. So now its showing me the hello world! post, with no css styling, since it doesn't know my directory settings.

So my question is, if I restore everything from an older copy of my site when everything was working, and restore my db, should it work again? Is my password, or any wp info like that stored on aanother server that will interfere with my site restoration?

Will I be able to use my old password to login?

    Thanks for your help!
