   Hi everyone,

   I would like to know if I really need to backup Mysql database or if I can restore any website if hacked with the ftp back up and the export xml file that I can export from wordpress export tool?

   In other word is it still usefull to backup the Sql database since it seems to be that the xml file expoterd via wordpress can be used to restore any hacked or deleted website?

   It's always advisable to do a full MySQL backup as well as data export from WP admin. I always like both (in different formats). Or you could always try http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/

   Thank you, for the plugin and I will back up both.
   Is it possible to restore the full blog only with the ftp and XML export file if the original blog has been deleted?

   What I want to know is does the XML file can restore a blog on it's ownn or does it need the original blog to still be online?

   For example, if I close down my blog for a year can I restore it next year only with the ftp and the XML export file?
