Hi, I recently upgraded upgraded the twentyten theme to the updated version (can't remember specifics unfortunately). I completely forgot that it would reset the entire theme so its now lost a lot of styling. I still have the rest of the site intact. So I was wondering if there is a way to restore the old theme with customizations . I backed up the database, though the back up is from before I updated the version of WordPress. Can I restore from just the database?
If you mean custom styles that you had written for the twenty ten theme, I'm afraid you might have lost it. The database doesn't contain the style files. It's a completely different matter. Did you update WordPress or the theme specifically? And do you by any chance have the old heme file backups?

I updated the theme, but I did update WordPress recently which went smoothly. Again, I didn't backup the core files since I wasnt 100% sure how to do that, so I only have the database. I'll probably contact the original designer for the file and then go back to using twentyten from now on. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do.

No. It's gone. Don't edit the Twenty Ten theme. Instead create a child theme for your changes.

Ok, I'll have to contact the previous designer then. Thanks.
