[resolved] Restore From Backup Works But Posts Not Visible (6 posts)

    Hi all,

Lost my db so went to a backup. I'm using the wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/ plugin.

Restored via mysql without errors. The interesting part is the data seems to all be there but is not showing up. There are no posts published on site and in admin > manage I can see the amount of published and draft numbers but no actual posts to select. Under dashboard I can see all stats for posts and drafts, comments, categories etc etc but clicking on posts/comments leads to nothing. Categories and tags seem to be fine and do show up under manage.

Backup was from 2.6.1 and I'm on 2.6.2 right now.

    Any ideas?

edit: I should mention that the post data is present in my wp_posts table under post_content. I'm baffled and limited in mysql knowledge.

    1. I don't know what "works" (according to you), if you cannot see the posts...
    2. Bumping is not a good idea. You just removed your topic from the "no replies" queue - where all the helpers will be looking when they come online.
    3. Don't trust scripts for backup. I did zillions of manual backups via phpMyAdmin and never lost one post.

Well all the data is there in the tables, just not showing up on the site. In the backend I can see the stats for all the posts etc but can't access the actual posts to edit etc.

Cheers for the tip, didn't know about the bumping.

the OP must have set it to resolved - only the topic starter can do that.
