Im so impressed with the support for this theme. So I'm a designer but not so CSS saavy, although I have some knowledge when it comes to modifying styles for color, fonts.. pretend I know nothing:

I'd like to strip Responsive down to bare bones, and basically have black features (header logo image, black or grey menu fonts) and white background. So I'd like to know how do-able it is to

1 Change those things I mention above (I see the Child Theme option but am totally in the dark as to how this works in sync with the wordpress dashboard and active Responsive theme.

2 remove the 'boxes' around each widgeted area, header etc..

3 remove the background grey box for the main nav menu in header and just see the text.. I'll be happy to sit back and listen, thanks guys.

4 also someone mentioned WowSlider, has anyone uploaded this into Responsive?

    Thanks all.

You may want to check out Responsive's dedicated site and forums -- they have tons of good info and help:

Much of what you want to do is simply modifying CSS -- so learn a bit of that and use Firebug and you'll get far on those kinds of changes...
