I just updated to version 3.1

Before, when I would embed a youtube video into one of my posts using HTML, when I switched back to the’visual’ editing it would show me a yellow box where the youtube video would appear in the post. I would be able to select it there and edit its size. Since upgrading to 3.1, when I switch back to visual, I can no longer see the youtube video box in order to edit its size. Is this a bug? Or am I missing another way to do it?

Here is my site, so you can get a sense of what I’m talking about:

If you look at posts from March 1, you’ll see how I resize the youtube video to make it fit. If you look at posts from March 2nd/3rd you’ll see how I was no longer able to do that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Or am I missing another way to do it?

    That 🙂

    Post youtube videos like this:

    EITHER
    http://youtube.com/?p=8973jd

    OR
    [embed]http://youtube.com/?p=8973jd[/embed]

    OR
    [embed]http://youtube.com/?p=8973jd[/embed]

When I put that into the HTML of the post (with the actual youtube link), and switch back to the visual it just shows up as [embed]http://youtube.com/?p=8973jd[/embed] and embeds a link to the youtube videoinstead of the yellow box denoted the location of the actual video in the post, which i could once re-edit and resize. it was simple before in the older version..so I’m sure I’m missing something. Still not working right, however..any additional suggestions?

    Thanks

You can fix the size all you want:
    [embed width="123" height="456"]...[/embed]

Don’t switch back and forth between HTML and Visual. Just put the embed code IN your visual editor. Works fine for me.

Thanks. That does work. I still liked the way it did it before, where you could see the visual of the embed box and manipulate it, move it around, resize, etc. Seemed better.

Yeah, that box was using code that’s in violation of the license WP uses, so it had to go 🙂
