    How do I reduce the size of the box that encloses the search form? The problem is

    This is the content of sidebar.php related to this. To be clear, I want to eliminate the blank space below the "Send" button.

    <h2><label for="s"><?php _e('Search:'); ?></label></h2>

    • <form id="searchform" method="get" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>">
      <div style="text-align:center">
      <input type="text" name="s" id="s" size="16" />
      <input type="submit" name="submit" value="<?php _e('Search'); ?>" />
      </div>
      </form>

    Sorry,

    ul

    and

    li

    are missing from the beginning and the end. For some reason it doesn't show up (suppose it's because post reads tags)

    Can anyone help me with this? There's a huge blank space below the Send button on my Search box.

    yes - place your form within a table. for some reason forms force a paragraph break below them.

    Example...
    '<table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
    <form id="searchform" method="get" action="<?php echo <tr><td>
    $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>">
    <div style="text-align:center">
    <input type="text" name="s" id="s" size="16" />
    <input type="submit" name="submit" value="<?php _e('Search'); ?>" />
    </div>

    </td></td>
    </form>
    </table>'

    You should be able to remove the space below by editing the css file to remove the padding from below that element.
