   Any way to horizontally resize the editor? I know you can vertically resize it, but the images I'm posting to my blog are wider than the editor and I'd rather not have to scroll every time I make a post.

   You could always use the full-screen mode.

   that creates new problems because you don't have access to the media uploader in the fullscreen mode so I would be constantly switching back between the two, hardly efficient.

   Good point. They've made image handling more seamless in 2.6 but I guess they haven't gotten around to adding the media buttons to the full-screen WYSIWYG.

   Actually, WP 2.6 does add the insert media buttons into the full-screen editor. Sweet...
