[resolved] Resize Circles (5 posts)

I'm just getting my site started, and I was wondering if there is there a way to change the size of the circle thumbnail for an image? I read that it is 360 pixels. The resolution I'm uploading my images at means that the circle has blank space on either side of the image.

I'd like the circle to be cropped fully within the picture. Is there something I can edit in the theme files or should I just re-upload my images at a higher resolution?

    Thanks for making this theme!

Doesn't look like resizing the circles will do anything

Thanks! But I was looking for how to change how the thumbnail is created from the source image. I've been trying to resize and re-upload my images, but the width in pixels does not seem to be making any difference, both small and large versions of the same image are being cropped with white space on the sides.

Cropping is handled by WordPress itself, not the theme. You may be able to use the built-in editing tools to adjust the Featured Images to suit your tastes:

But it would probably be easier and faster to crop the images to include only the image and no visible borders prior to uploading them. Uploading at a higher resolution won't fix the problem since WordPress will scale the images down before cropping.

Thanks very much! I've re-cropped my images and taken out the white borders and it's done the trick.
