    i wish to change my admin ID=1 to another value. i know where to change the value in my db via phpmyadmin but when i do that i lose permission rights to get in the blog. what am i not doing?

    yes

    these are default settings i think = 1

    1) wp_user the admin ID = 1

    2) wp_usermeta = there are quite a few entries ID =1

    so, assuming all 1’s change to new value?

    3) regarding wp_options = does not look like what i am looking for resides here…

    haven’t made any changes just yet. will wait a bit longer in case new info presents itself.

    If this is for security reasons why not just create a new admin then delete the old one. It’s what I did.

    You really, really, don’t want to change the ID numbers. Doing so will break many things.

    If you want to create a new admin and delete the old one, that’s fine. But don’t mess with the ID numbers. They’re used many places internally.
