So I was typing in the admin password but it was not taking. So I hit send me my password (in case I forgot although I typically use one of a few secure passwords), well since it was early in the morning and the coffee hadn't set in yet, I clicked on the reset password link in the email I got. Now WP won't let me log in until the admin approves the user and of course I can't log in as the admin to approve it. Did I hose myself? Any way to recover?
that's weird, usually the link logs you in and lets you change your password from within the admin.
i'd try resending password again (your email hasn't been changed, right?)
otherwise you might access the db directly and find a decryption code...good luck!
Now WP won't let me log in until the admin approves the user and of course I can't log in as the admin to approve it.
Must be using a plugin such as Register Plus as WordPress does not have that 'native' ability.
Review Resetting Your Password. If that doesn't work, clear your browser cache and deactivate plugins: How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?

I was able to rename my plugins folder as indicated by the link above and insert a blank plugins folder. However I am getting this error message: "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." when I log in with the reset admin password.

I was able to reset password of a different user name and go in and change the profile where I had an additional administrator. The admin account was downgraded to a subscriber level. Probably not a plugin issue but just my poor memory. Now to reset the plugins.
Thanks.
