I’m hoping to be able to offer a free level membership and then have members upgrade to another free level, requiring that they include a unique code in that upgrade process. Rather than pay for the higher tier membership, they get it for free by using a certain code. The code would be predefined in a system external from S2Member (the user would be given the code in an email). Ideally, S2Member would only allow one account to use each code.

Is this possible with S2Member? If so, how?

    Thank you!

You would need the Pro version, and then use coupons to provide the code function you are looking for.

One issue I see with this, though, is that there is no way, without some additional scripting, of limiting the coupon to one account (though it is possible to set an expiry date).

Another problem is, if the code is being generated by a system outside s2member, you will need to input that code manually into s2member’s coupon list.

Wouldn’t it be easier to employ content dripping using the [s2Drip] shortcode (under API/Scripting in the s2member back-end)?
