• I use a lot of plugins and I tend to come across a lot of them. One trend I see is for plugin developers to use the “Screenshots” tab without any… screenshot. It’s just a duplicate of the plugin description. It feels like spam to me, and it’s very frustrating to click on the “Screenshots” tab and finding yourself reading what you’ve already read. What’s the point in just putting text without images? If you don’t have screenshots, don’t use the tab. Cause it’s what it’s meant for.

It’s better to not have screenshots at all than suggesting you have while you don’t.

It’s my advice for plugin developers: don’t annoy your users and they’ll give you great feedback.

What WordPress.org could do is desactivate the screenshots tab unless there are images in it.

  • Boomybx,

As a plugin developer, we do add screenshots (for example on Scribe). The problem is they are not showing!

No feedback on why they are not there. I have added eight of them for Scribe and yet they do not show.

Hopefully someone from WordPress can address.
