You realize that a blank theme will actually be much more work to create than using one already made as a base design?

Take an existing AJAX theme and simply place your style of fonts and colors in place of the ones used... an extra bonus of this is you can see how the existing theme is using the AJAX functionality.

I suppose if you were really neurotic about it you could get an existing theme and make it blank yourself.... but really, if you don't know how to "blank" a theme or modify an existing one you're not going to know how to create one from a blank state anyway.

I don't like to strip down existing themes... I rather have a blank theme wich i can re-use everytime i need to create a weblog... Take a look at http://www.miklb.com/blog/2005/my-site/blank-wordpress-theme/ to see wat i mean with a blank theme (no AJAX library is included).

I created one that has an ajax sidebar and ajax comments. Its based off Kubrick. Here is the link to it. http://fauxzen.com/code/wordpress/kubrijax/

My blank theme is based on the work done by urban giraffe
    http://urbangiraffe.com/2005/04/12/themeguide1/

At the time, I was learning theme design (still learning), and wanted to be able to pick up a file and go, so I followed the four part tutorial, stripped out the declarations for the CSS, and packaged it up and shared. I'm thinking of a v2, that simplifies things down even more.
