Request: Better Tab Key Support

    Hi,

    I prefer to use the ‘tab’ key to navigate instead of the mouse as much as I can.

    It doesn’t seem to land on a few places I would expect it to.

    2 examples:

    1. On wordpress.org/support, I click on the username, enter it, and tab to password, then, tab takes me to the ‘log in’ field. It skips the checkbox, which I suppose is ‘remember me’, but it is not marked.

    2. When creating a post, I tab from ‘Topic Title’, to message. It skips the ‘version’ drop down, where I would arrow down to choose my version.

    Not a big deal, but it would be cool if it tabbed to those 2 missed areas.

    Maybe you could adjust these so the tab key works sequentially?

    That will (sadly) have to wait until we upgrade the forums to the new bbpress (no ETA yet). We know accessibility via Tab is busted :/

    Well … okay, let me explain this differently.

    The forums are HUGE. Like multiple servers, split DBs, integrated with a bajillion other services huge. And if we disable them to migrate them, which we WANT to do, it requires upgrades and a lot of fixing.

    So … it’s not super EASY or FAST to do it right. We could do it dirty and break everything for everyone even more, but that would mean no plugin support, no theme support, no historical data.

    Take your pick here :/

    OK. Fair enough.

    I’ve seen it working on so many other sites, and thought it would be good, and not too hard to have it done here. I’ll just not use the tab and other keys.
