WordPress never returned from trying to accept that reply. I tried multiple times. Tried logging out and back in. Tried replying from the Dashboard side and also from the public side. It finally worked when I removed the line with the "yournumber@mycricket.com". I was then able to edit the reply and add it back. WordPress converts that string into hyperlinked text (which I didn't want, and don't know how to stop from happening).
I would prefer WordPress not automatically hyperlink. It already provides a mechanism for doing that manually, putting YOU in control.
