Buddypress they say is a collection of plugins for WP right?
Buddypress is not available YET for single user WP
Id like to add a feature to my site somehow similar to buddypress where users can have their profile page where they can put information, a textbox or something would do, possibly a picture, and other users could comment on.
Is there an existing plugin for that? or possibly a set of plugins that would enable me to do that
while waiting for the buddypress for single user

User Messages adds messenging capabilities to standard WP.

Actually it WILL work with single user WordPress now. Exciting news! You have to use the trunk version of BuddyPress, but I've tried it with WP 2.9 and it seems to be working just fine.
