    Hi all,

I'm new to wordpress (and not too familiar with web design in general), but have been trying to teach myself based on trial and error/online tutorials. I have built a site locally using XAMPP on my mac desktop and it is (mostly) ready to go. I now want to transfer the site to a server and have it be live. Currently, the domain (www.solublesolutions.com) has an old HTML site. I have the login info for FTP and for the host website (which is mycorphosting).

I have tried several times to install wordpress or move the files over and nothing is working. I get either 404 or 500 server errors when I do. Can anyone direct me to a step by step tutorial applicable to my situation? Or possibly talk me through the steps I need to take?

Thanks for any help you all can give me.

Update: I tried to export my localhost database and import it on my server. Then I FTPed the wordpress folder on the site.

    Now, I have this:
    http://www.solublesolutions.com/wordpress

Which is new and correct in terms of content, but not at all formatted. I also can't login to wordpress this way.

Am I on the right track?

Thanks esmi, I actually figured it out after messing around awhile. I appreciate the help though!
