   Hi,I have searched the far corners of the internet for a theme that allows me to have a slider at the top without insisting on pulling images from the Posts. It should instead allow me to set the images manually in Dashboard based on images I upload... like many websites which have a banner at the top with multiple images, preferably clickable but leading not to posts but to pages.

   Can you direct me as to 1) how might I find WordPress themes that offer this feature and 2) how might I change a theme that uses Featured Post images, so that instead it uses the slideshow images?

   Aren't you really looking for a plugin rather than a theme?

   Is there a plugin that would REPLACE the Featured Post slider? If so that would be great.

   Thanks!.. I stuck the vslider plugin into my existing theme which has a nice simple HTML-based header and it works great, but the theme itself has other problems and I really want to change it. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to witch the plugin for one of the themes that have those scary-looking Java headers.

   Here's some GREAT advice on getting the slider to show Page featured image instead of Post featured image - http://www.web2feel.com/how-to-show-pages-instead-of-posts-on-the-slider/ - Highly recommended! (not sure this works with themes created by somebody else, and haven't got it to move automatically yet, have to click the slider to get the slides to move... but making progress!)
