Has anyone successfully renamed the admin account to something else? Can it be done by editing in PHPMyAdmin? Just wondering if it can be done successfully for security concerns...

You can - look inside the users table.
And security concerns ? Just have a password that is more secure.

Renaming the admin account won't help substantially. Yes, it will make it harder for someone to log in directly as you, by brute-forcing the password; but beyond that it won't help.

If someone can execute a SQL injection, as was possible with the recent XMLRPC exploit, they can access your admin account because the admin account is always user ID 1.

Following from that then, if I changed my admin ID number to another number would that impact anywhere ? I can't see that it would on a single user blog, but on a multi-user too ?

(I know that this is academic too with 1.5.1.3)

If you changed your admin ID _before_ you made any posts, it wouldn't be too hard.

Changing your admin ID _after_ you have a body of posts will require you to update all the posts and any comments you've made, to use the new admin ID.

    I won't be doing that then :)
