I don't want my visitors to be able to post their website address when posting a comment to my forum. Please advise on how to remove this field.

    Thanks in advance.

This is a theme dependant thing. Usually it's in comments.php as part of your theme. Look in there and find the input field that has a name of "uri". Comment that bit out with <!-- and --> and voila.

    Hi,

I've removed website field but i am also interested how to stop displaying url to user site when he make comment.

Sometimes, even after i've removed that field, i can see links to user websites when they make comments (mostly spam comments so i guess they use some automated script and that is way they don't need website field to put their links.)

@fkranjce - those are Trackback spams. They don't come in via your comments form.

Presumably, you're using some of the anti-spam plugins. If not, let me know and I'll link a few.

I use Spam Karma 2 and it works great. Rarely don't stop spam so i can live with thouse links to spammer websites untill i manually mark them as spam.

Just was courious if it possible to remove linking user to their website.
