How do I remove the tags, author name, date/time from the posts page as well as the tags from the posts displayed on the home page. thanks!

Try this:
```
.pull-left {
    display: none;
}
.category-tag {
    display: none;
}
```

that worked, thank you but how can i get it to display what category the post is in only? I still dont want author name, date/time ect

Replace the .category-tag with one of the following.
.icon-tags
.icon-folder-open

both only removes the icons and not the actual words

For such changes you need to edit content.php and index.php files
