Removing "support" for post editor in custom post type breaks publish button... (1 post)

After creating my custom post type, everything was working fine, until I decided to try removing the post editor with the 'supports' parameter. And so I did, but as soon as I removed it, once I tried to publish the post, the "publish" button became unresponsive. I added support for the editor again, and it was working once more.

Is this a bug? Shall I report it? Is this somehow intended? Any information would be appreciated.
