Removing "Store uploads in this folder" option…

Why, why why would u remove such a critical option in WordPress 3.5? I have outlined my issue in this support thread:

But seriously, why call it an update if it’s going to remove options and make spreading downloads across multiple nameservers (putting images on a sub-domain) next to impossible?
