• I am trying to make my landing page (which is home page on the Sporty Theme) a static page, with no blogging/comments allowed. How do I do this? I have created a separate home page to try and replace the default home page, but I end up with two of them.

The website is http://www.gaprospects.com. I am new to this and just trying to get this resolved.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I would start by asking in the support forum for that specific theme:

Have you tried changing it with in ‘Settings > Reading’ ?

I tried searching under that theme but I couldn’t find anything.

I tried changing it with the Settings >Reading menus, but when I get to change it to a static page, the home page is not listed under the pages list. I think the landing page is hard coded with the theme and I can’t find out to move it to the pages list.

ask in the support thread, not look. I would start this exact thread over there. If the theme has the homepage hardcoded as you suggest, there isn’t much you can do then alter the code yourself through a child theme.

Do you mean the theme and templates support? I am posting in support threat, once it is installed and working.

Sorry about the duplicate post. Didn’t do it on purpose.

Yea, I mean post directly into the Sporty themes support thread. I have linked to it twice now.

That will get the theme authors attention and only he can help you as he knows how the theme was constructed. It doesn’t make sense that the homepage is not listed inside of the pages drop down under Settings > General.
