removing sidebar from pages entirely (3 posts)

I would like to remove the sidebar space in my pages, so that the post space fills the page width.

Twordder does not display sidebar widgets on pages, but keeps the blank sidebar space, which is looks unbalanced.

I have searched support for info, but everything I've found regards removing sidebar info and widgets, not the actual space. I've tried changing the template in 'page attributes' to 'page no sidebar' but that doesn't change the layout, still leaves the sidebar space.

Do I have to make changes to the code? Could anyone spell it out for me?

Thanks a million, if I can fix this I'll be quite happy with my layout.

Actually, let me amend that, choosing 'page no sidebar' removes the sidebar, but also the custom header and background, yikes.
