I am the new webmaster for my college's newspaper. The original site has been in disrepair long before I got here.... I liked the Max Magazine theme but I am having an issue. Even if I remove the sidebar from the php files the content will not take the bar's empty place... Where the sidebar was, remains white space. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Need to make an adjustment to your CSS files, something like, probably need to change your #main and #post-area width to 100%.

If you are making changes to the original theme files, you should build a child theme - http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

OK I changed the properties to get full width content, but There seems to be nothing I can do to make the slideshow take up the space or the featured categories (tried adjusting there widths in CSS) 9is there something else I can do?

Do you have a link to your site, want to make sure I am referring to the right theme.
