http://bayareafamilyhypnosis.com Ugh, I am not even sure I can ask an intelligent question. This is my first time doing this. I have the book Using and it has helped but still
I want to make my pages look like regular websites and have only one page where I blog and people post. I see other site with WordPress that look like that. I have tried the reading thing to make a static page, but I am sure I am confused and I still have posting on every page. Can someone please advise me? I would be grateful After years of have someone else do my sites, and never being about able to create on my own, I really want to be successful at this. Thanks, Denise

Start by following the instructions in Creating_a_Static_Front_Page.

    HI Esmi,

I did that and followed the directions and there is still a posting place on the page I picked. I have tried it several times and it still does not work.

No - your front page is currently showing a static Page with comments enabled.

Well then I guess I am asking the wrong thing. That is a help to know,at least. Is there a way to make the comments sections go away and only havve it one of the pages?

Edit the Page & tick "Allow comments" in the Discussion pane. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options and tick "Discussion".

Thanks for your help Esmi, that worked. Now how to get the Meta off the page? Can you help again? Thanks

It is probably a widget that is being added by default because you have not added widgets. Go to "appearance" and then "widgets" and then add search to the right sidebar. Add archives too if you are going to have them. Meta should be gone.

Thanks. I have a static page for the front page. When I go to reading settings, I clicked static page, and welcome for my front page then for posts I entered Blog for my page, updated it and when I went to the blog page it reads "Not Found"

As I understand it, one page has to be a posting page. I really want this to be my Extra, Extra page and not any other page. But again when I enter any page under Posts page, it makes the content go away and the Not Found message appears.

Also, is it possible to take the Meta and login off the pages?
