Removing Nav bar from header image and making other pages like (3 posts)

Hi, Do you know how/where I can permanently remove the nav bar from the header image? I found a backdoor way--by making my other non-blog pages Private-- but now when the pages open, they say "Private" on them. My site is http://www.monkeychimonkeydo.com/blog (click "togetherness Projects" in the nav bar on right hand side of page below header to see the problem.
Also, how can I make the other pages on my blog look like my main blog page? I tried changing the Page Attributes, but couldn't find a way that would also preserve the content.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me!!!

You will need to edit your theme's page.php and/or header.php template files.
