Removing my blog from search engines

    My blog is required for my college course and unimaginatively I used my real name for the domain to make life easy for my tutor.

    I’ve set the blog to discourage search engines but its still the 3rd link when you search my name in Google. Since I’m looking for part time work at the moment, this is not a good thing.

    I cannot set the blog completely private as this would cause a lot of hassle – my classmates, tutors and outside assessors all need access.

    Are there any other measures I can take to help decrease the visibility?

    If you have a Google Webmaster account, you can ask for the site to be removed from Google’s index.

    I just checked and its been done. Quite surprised since I only put in the request last night.
