Removing index.php from URLs - GoDaddy (4 posts)

    Hello,

I installed WordPress on my website a few days ago and everything would be fine if not for the dreaded index.php part in my URLs - how to remove it? I host it on GoDaddy and when I asked them how to fix it they just suggested to remove the index.php file from my Account Manager... which doesn't solve it.

I host it on a Windows server and run the newest version of WordPress (2.7).

    Please advise!

    Thank you

I got permalinks working on GoDaddy WIMP with their new grid hosting where they do not have Microsoft URLRewrite installed, thanks to an article by John Sessford. I have posted a reference to John's article, code and my GoDaddy tailored instructions at my new WP site located at http://www.49thlatitude.com/wordpress/wordpress/permalinks-on-godaddy-wimp which nicely uses the new permalinks ability. - Dave
