    Hi,
First of all, I’m using a child theme of twentyeleven for my self-hosted website.
I’m trying make it so that any page using the showcase page template – the static front page and any pages containing photo galleries – has just the site title, the menu and a slider, plus the social media widget and site generator fields at the bottom.
I’ve managed to remove the recent posts section, but I’m not sure how to go about removing the header image from this template.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

OK so I figured it out: I created a custom header template (header-custom.php) following the instructions I found here, then modified a copy of the showcase.php template – following instructions from Alchymyth that I found here – that I then copied into my child theme folder.
I now have header images on normal pages and no header images on pages using the showcase template.
