[closed] Removing Comment Capability is NOT Possible (4 posts)

From all that I have read herein and found on WordPress, it seems that there is no way of removing selected page or post comment capabilities, nor to remove all comment capabilities, nor limit the ability of anyone to read and edit any comment that is made.

It would therefore seem that WordPress is not well suited for website development as boasted. Otherwise I like WordPress (just as I do Wix, which has it's own fault issues).

Open Source contributors has done a great job in spite of these short comings.

Any suggestions would be more than welcomed by many who have presented this question in several threads.

Maybe "Christine Rondeau" may have a solution...please.

I too had trouble removing the comment box. Then I found that if you go to your pages list and select "Quick Edit", look on the right side below "parent", "order", and "template", there is a check box for "Allow Comments". Just unchecking that box removed it all for me. Hope this works for you.

please post a real example where you are working to remove comment capabilities.

many comment problems/questions here come from the fact that some users are not at all familiar with the dashboard options and settings.
