   Hello

   I'm trying to remove the "Posted by $author in $date" and "Posted in $category | Leave a comment" from my excerpt, but I can't for the life of my find it to edit on any file. Can anyone advise me on how to do it?

   please post a link to your site, or at least post the name of the theme you are using - without that information, no one here can help you as every theme is different.
   also, where does the excerpt show with the extra information? front page, single post?

   the more information you can give, the easier it will be to help ;-)

   http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy helps you to find out which template you are actually looking at (like index.php , single.php etc)

   I am so sorry for wasting your time, it was a dumb plugin I had installed and had completely forgotten about.
