I’m currently playing around with Kubrick, and decided to change the background colour. I edited the images so that they match the background – this is just a test so I can try anything you suggest without disaster.

Now, you will note that at the top there’s a blank white space. Using FF it was listed as id=page, id=pageheader and id=header – I changed all of these to the background colour, but the white space still shows.

Any idea on how to resolve this?

Secondly, I’m using Matt’s menu – how do you have links that link to the button so it displays as /archive/ rather than http://yourdomain/subfolder/contentfolder/themefolder/archives.php?

I need to understand how to make such shortcuts, or do you have to create a folder for things like about, photos etc and not direct it to a php file?

With the same menu, I have tried many things to get the current link to be active. I have tried a:link.active and ul li.current but still cannot get it to highlight as it were. I’ve read a lot, but it’s not making sense to me – I’ve spent a good few hours trying to do this. Perhaps this can be added to the Wiki as well, with issues regarding horizontal menus that have active tabs?

    Please advise.

    Kind regards.

  • I don’t know about the whitespace, but for the links your menu is controlled in your header template (inside your theme), just change the links as you need them. It’s in the nav div section it looks like.

    hi ceo,

Could you clarify that for me? I have the menu within the header.php, I understand this. What I am trying to accomplish is having the current page tab highlight. So if you were to click about, it would highlight about and leave the others the colour they are, does that make sense?

Now I’ve tried to copy the process from this site:

    http://www.thepwa.net/design/parker-cssmenu.php

In theory, i think I have everything written as it should be to work, but for whatever reason it’s not working. I don’t understand why as I am not a coder so I need someone to explain to me where the error is or what I have done wrong. The menu works great, it’s just not working the way I want it to.

Any thoughts on the issue about how menu buttons are link without the entire url? Or a link to a document which expplains how to link to other items such as the about page and such? Everytime I redirect with a full path to the php file I get a 404 error or it just doesn’t work. For example redirecting the Archives button to archives.php doesn’t work for me.

I’ve also noticed that the blogroll keeps changing on every refresh, I take it that’s normal?

    Thanks in advance
