[resolved] Remove the 'New feature: toolbar" notification (6 posts)

    In the new WordPress version every new user who registers to the site sees a notification which points them to the new Toolbar. I would like to shut this down, because it isn't necessary for the use of my site.

    Does anybody know a solution?

    Kind regards,

    Jan

    You can use this in your theme's functions.php to remove all notifications (tooltips):

    remove_action( 'admin_enqueue_scripts', array( 'WP_Internal_Pointers', 'enqueue_scripts' ) );

    Thanks for the quick response Kees, but unfortunately it doesn't help.

    There is this line in my functions.php:

    'add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts','my_theme_scripts_function');'

    I've tries adding your line after this line, but it doesn't help. Also, I changed add_action into remove_action but that doesn't help.

    The solution in the post you linked by changing add into remove in template.php doesn't seem to do the trick neither.

    Got any other ideas perhaps? I would appreciate it.

    Like a boss! Worked immediately!

    Never considered looking for a plug in for a problem like this.

    Thanks man!
