   I would like to be able to have a title for my site.

   However, whenever I type a title in the box, it comes up on the page (where I have my custom logo)

   I would like to use the title of the page and have it remain on top of the browser (or when someone favorites it) but I don't want it over lapping my custom logo on the site.

   I would suspect that this is something in the header.php or something along those lines that needs to be shut off?

   I am using the 2010 theme.

   Also, as a secondary option, i would like to be able to move the header all the way to the top, being that because I do not want to use the text title, there is a large space there.

   Don't edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

   Once your child theme is being used on your site, post the site url here and we'll try to help.

   Ok, ill give the child theme a shot. Thanks for the info.

   Since I already made a lot of color changes in experimenting with it, when I create this child theme will I be able to keep these changes?

   Basically I just downloaded the 2010 theme, renamed it with child, re uploaded it to the themes folder, then activated it. Did I do that right? Sorry I am an idiot when it comes to wp.

   You should pull those changes out of the base theme and put them in a child theme. Also you should comment on the changes you are doing so you remember when you need to work on it again in the future.

   If you commented on the changes you made to your theme to do the color changes, you will be able to find them with ease.
