I think it would great if I could keep the blog as simple as possible for my moderator (editor).

I really only want him to manage posts, comments, categories.

Is there a simple place to deselect managing pages, blogrolls, profile as options in his console?

I don’t mind going into the code.

  • Check Roles and Capabilities and at the bottom of the page there is a link to the Role Manager plugin that should help you.

I installed the above plug in called “Roles and Capabilities” then activated it and all looks well.( plugin tab of Admin Panel states condition as activated. )

However, nothing happens after that. So I went to http://www.site.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/role-manager/role-manager.php
and I got the following errors:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: load_plugin_textdomain() in /home/surepog6/public_html/wordpress-2.1.3/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/role-manager/role-manager.php on line 20

There is no documentation that I can find so I don’t know what to do.

    Any thoughts?

Sorry: clarification “Role Manager Plugin” not “Roles and Capabilities”

In your admin panel, look for the Roles tab under Users.

And you should be using version 1.4.5_wp2.1 of that plugin.

Also you may want to review Managing_Plugins.

Thank you that was the guidance I needed.

Upon changing any of the capabilities in the Admin Panel/Users/Role

    I always get this error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class rolemanager in /home/surepog6/public_html/wordpress-2.1.3/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/role-manager/role-manager.php on line 23

I guess that class was already defined somewhere else?
    What should I do?
    Thanks again.
    Kel
