Remove site from Multisite Installation (2 posts)

    Hi Guys,

I have about 5 sites setup in my multisite installation at the moment. For one of the sites I have done a redesign on a new fresh installation of WordPress and I am ready to switch this over with the current site.

Now the new site I have redesigned is a separate installation of WordPress and I want it to remain as such (not part of the current multisite group). How do I remove the current site from the multisite install and have the domain point to my new site?

I have tried both archiving the current site and deactivating the current site - have not tried deleting yet as I want to be able to get back in case I can't get it to work just now.

When I deactivated or archived the current site and went to the site address I just got a message saying that the site was archived or deleted and was no longer available.

In my cpanel account I have removed the parked domain for the site in question and set it up as an addon domain pointing to the correct folder with the new site installation. This seems to change nothing.

Ideally what I want to do is deactivate the current site, then get the domain to point to my new site folder.

Could somebody please help me out?

Make a separate install and point the domain to it, just like you normally would.
